As social beings we are constantly in tune with the people and environment around us. Though it’s always good to be aware and alert to these things, it becomes an issue when we allow them to prevent our progression. For instance, at a stop light many of us wait until the car next to us begins moving before we accelerate. For whatever reason! Maybe our minds are elsewhere (daydreaming, texting, finding a radio station). Now, when we get in the habit of waiting on others to move, we often find ourselves comfortable with being distracted. Often having to get honked at or pushed to move forward. We can find this in our spiritual and personal lives as well. We sometimes allow the daily hustle to distract us, finding ourselves “too busy” to pray or read our bible. Instead of finding excuses we as men and woman of God must be..
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.Hebrews 12:2, NIV
Jesus is the, ” light unto [our] path” (Psalm 119:105, NIV) and is telling us when to move, when to stop. But! we have grown too distracted with the things around us. By fixing our eyes on him, we leave less room for distraction and are open and alert to his direction. It’s time to move forward family, what’s stopping YOU?
