Have you ever had a bee buzzing by your ear, it irritates you right. It’s not a pleasurable feeling. What you really want to do is to get away from that Bee.
Sometimes our teens feel that same way. Have you ever wonder why our teens avoid us or don’t want to give us the time and place.
Question are you sounding like a Bee?
We as parents sometime put all the blame in our teenagers lives of why they don’t come to church or youth ministry. We need to stop and think why is the truth reason they don’t come. Maybe if we stop and have a listening ear we might find out the why?
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1-4 (NIV)
We have to come to an understanding that our children are growing up quickly and they need Godly directions but how can we direct them if we ourselves don’t follow directions from God. You see if Someone irritates you just like the Bee, you really don’t want to be around them or hear them out at all. All you want to do is get away from them. So the key is to listen first to what God is saying and start doing it and then you can direct them with wisdom from God and you will get the results you always wanted from your teens.
